ART® Active Release Therapy®

Active Muscle Release

Active Muscle Release is a form of soft-tissue stretch which targets one muscle at a time. The problematic muscle is contacted with deep tension by the doctor's hands, similar to a deep tissue massage, and then the patient performs a stretch specific to that muscle.

This techniqe has the ability to strengthen the muscle over time as it rebuilds in response to the stretch. The muscle's  flexibility & function become restored helping to improve range of motion & stability around a joint. It is also an effective tool for reducing muscle pain & spasm.
